Day Trip to Horseneck Beach, Westport, MA
I have been going to Horseneck Beach since a kid. But I never realized it was so much more than just another beach! It is about 600 acres of protected land. With marshes for kayaking, walking trail, beach, and island for excursioning and bird watching. Note, dogs are not aloud in alot of areas because of the protected endangered birds that are breeding. The best time of year to visit is spring or fall. Summer is too hot and buggy and winter too cold. Spring is my favorite because of the blooming sweet peas, daisies, and elderberries. BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse
I have been here multiple times. It’s a great place to try a new beer and their mixed drink list is amazing! Even their non-alcoholic drinks are creative and different. Before COVID the menu was huge. It has been cut back until further notice but there is still a large menu. The appetizers are highly recommended. No one has ever been disappointed so far with the entree’s. The service is on point even during this time of separating and distancing. Definitely a must. Cisco Brewers, Nantucket, RI
Cisco Brewers on Nantucket Island is just a comfy place to drop in whether via car or bike. My girls and I went over to the island, rented some bikes, visited the beach and stopped here on the way back to the ferry.
