Day Trip to Horseneck Beach, Westport, MA
I have been going to Horseneck Beach since a kid. But I never realized it was so much more than just another beach! It is about 600 acres of protected land. With marshes for kayaking, walking trail, beach, and island for excursioning and bird watching. Note, dogs are not aloud in alot of areas because of the protected endangered birds that are breeding. The best time of year to visit is spring or fall. Summer is too hot and buggy and winter too cold. Spring is my favorite because of the blooming sweet peas, daisies, and elderberries. Goosebury IslandIf starting from the parking lot my favorite route is straight through the…

Valentine’s Day Getaway
It’s time to get back out! Things are slowly opening up again and most of us are anxious to get out of the house. We invited friends Alfie and Kristen to head down the Cape with us for one night for Valentine’s Day. This time of year is somewhat quiet down the Cape with the cold weather. But it is so nice to drive down the coast and take a walk on the beach even though its chilly. The sun feels so good and the sound of the waves makes you feel far from home. Betsy’s Diner For breakfast we stopped at Betsy’s Diner. The food looked amazing. Could’ve used…

Woods Hole, Falmouth, MA
Breakfast at “The Pie in the Sky” Our plan was to go to the “Vineyard” for the day and then stay at the Woods Hole Inn that I had previously made reservations for that evening. Since we arrived super early in Woods Hole, we grabbed a quick bite at this great outdoor breakfast place called, “Pie in the Sky”. Good to get there early because it’s obviously very popular. They had great sandwiches and pastries. We got a croissant sandwich with chourico, egg and cheese! Yummy! Our ferry left at 8:35. Tickets are cheap, $8.50 each way if you are a walk on passenger. You can take a vehicle…

Cisco Brewers, Nantucket, RI
Cisco Brewers on Nantucket Island is just a comfy place to drop in whether via car or bike. My girls and I went over to the island, rented some bikes, visited the beach and stopped here on the way back to the ferry. They have food trucks for food and snacks and of course a great menu of beer, mixed drinks and wine. Visit their website Cisco Brewers for more of what they have to offer. Right now you need to reserve a table. We were fortunate enough to get there as they opened so they had an open table for us without reservations. They are very cautious, spraying your…

Our Trip to Portugal, St. Michael
Nordeste We were so lucky and fortunate that one of my best friends, Lillian, and her parents, graciously let us stay with them at their home for the first part of our trip! We stayed in Nordeste. The view was beautiful and Lil’s mom spoiled us by making us food everyday. We were able to truly get the full experience. We ate fish stew, all different meat dishes, and of course SOUP!! And my favorite was the fresh bread! The View The view was just beautiful. You could see cows in the pasture, the local church, and yes, everyone’s laundry! Most houses do not own a dryer. …
